Disclaimer: "gone tomorrow (ish)" means in most circumstances the plastic will be degraded back into various natural elements in much less than the typical 450 to 1,000 years plastic sticks around in the environment; current data with ErthPac used to make a poly film shows 1/2 of the ErthPac film was degraded to natural components in about one year under landfill type conditions (see ErthPac position paper above)
